Today was a good day. I tried a new method to get things done. Worked for today. Have to see about tomorrow.
- Did both workouts today, abs and arms.
- Basil has just started telling Lord Henry the story of why he doesn’t want to display the picture of Dorian Gray.
- Ghee smeared roti with dal for breakfast and lunch. I know to make only one type of dal and I don’t know what people call it. For me, it is just the dal. Recipe is at the end of this post.
Roti and Dal
- Movie of the day was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I had never watched this movie. I guess my childhood was just not Disney enough.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
- I wrote a story today. It is called Exchange. It would make all people staying as paying guests uncomfortable.
- Tea of the day was green tea.
Recipe of dal: Soak toor dal overnight in water. Drain the water in the morning. Put it in the pressure cooker. Add sliced onions, chopped tomatoes, crushed garlic cloves, chopped green chillies, garam masala, cumin seeds, salt, refined sunflower oil and curry leaves along with the soaked toor dal. Add enough water to only submerge all these. Cover the lid of the pressure cooker, put the weight and let it cook on the flame. After 3-4 whistles, turn off the stove. Once the pressure is released completely, remove the lid and mash the contents inside with a masher or with the back of a ladle. It is ready to eat with rotis or rice.
Note: All the ingredients can be cooked/fried separately and mixed together in the end. If you don’t have time, just do it my way. It will be grand! 😉
